|The nurses are nice to me here. I am recuperating in a hospital at Jackson Base. There was an electrical fire. My face was burned to a crisp. The doctor says they could reconstruct my jaw, but my insurance won’t pay for it. I’m being fitted for a prosthetic next week. I’ll never look right.
My best friend died in the accident. It was my fault. I bumped a frayed power cable. I’m angry at myself. I’m angry at him for dying. I’m seeing a shrink, but it isn’t helping.
I want to get back to work. I am a comp specialist. I’m going to see someone at Meridian when I get out of here. One of the nurses told me her boyfriend was offered some freelance work. Maybe I’ll get lucky. Things have got to turn around for me.
